Why Ozzfest ended, according to Sharon Osbourne.

During the latest episode of 'The Osbournes', Sharon answered the question

Sharon Osbourne commented on an episode of her family's show , The Osbournes , regarding the reason that led to the closure of Ozzfest, a festival that had its last edition in 2018 .

The businesswoman explained ( via Blabbermouth ): “Yes, it was a very strange beast because all the bands were our friends, but the managers were greedy and for some reason thought we were making billions from it, and we weren’t. We made a profit. But it wasn’t like – we couldn’t retire. And the managers and agents wanted more and more, and it just wasn’t profitable anymore. We stopped because it simply wasn’t profitable.”

The festival was responsible for bringing several other bands into the spotlight. “Years and years ago, one of the bands – it was the second Ozzfest we did, or the third – wouldn’t go on stage until I agreed to give them another $10,000. They were stalling everything and I said, ‘Sure, sure, I’ll give it to you.’”

Her son Jack Osbourne inquired about the band, and Sharon replied that it was Glenn Danzig , to which Jack responded: "Why are you protecting that idiot?"

The businesswoman said she didn't give them the money they wanted, "They kept going and played, and I said, 'Fuck you. You signed a contract, your agent agreed, and you're just trying to overcharge.'"
