The Mongolian heavy metal band The Hu is currently on their North American tour , The Hun Tour . Last Saturday night, the 18th, the band played in New York City and had none other than actress Whoopi Goldberg ( Ghost, Sister Act ) in the audience.
Whoopi not only attended The Hu's show but also went backstage to take a picture with the musicians and express her "deep admiration" for the band, according to Blabbermouth . In the image, the actress appears smiling amidst the band members and other faces, who also seem pleased with her presence.
Founded in 2016, The Hu is a fairly recent band based on Mongolian folk rock. Their name comes from the native word meaning "human being". In 2019, they released their debut album, The Gereg , and debuted at number one on the Global Album and Top New Artist . Currently, the band has accumulated over 250 million combined streams and has received acclaim from sites such as Billboard, GQ, The Guardian, and even Elton John .
