David Coverdale is currently on his final tour with Whitesnake and, according to Joel Hoekstra , the last few shows have been quite emotional for the vocalist.
In an interview with Chaoszine , the guitarist commented on the recent performances: “It’s a chance for people to say goodbye to David and let him thank everyone for the wonderful 50 years that have passed. It’s an emotional tour for him. He just wants to thank everyone for a wonderful career, which I think is really cool.”
Regarding the tour, Hoekstra said he wants this moment to be significant for Coverdale. “I think he’s an incredible guy. He’s been nothing but wonderful to me since I joined the band. So I’d love to see him have a great send-off,” he concluded.
The Farewell Tour began in May with a new lineup – the addition of Dino Jelusick , who shares vocals with David Coverdale, and Tanya O'Callaghan on bass. The tour may eventually include Brazil, as the vocalist mentioned the country in an interview.
