Whitesnake: David Coverdale wants former members on new album.

This will be the band's last album

David Coverdale , frontman of Whitesnake , said he would like former band members to participate in one last album.

The frontman participated in the Totally 80s and when asked if he would retire, he replied [ via Blabbermouth ]: “No. I can’t retire from music; it’s like oxygen to me. I have at least three to five years of projects planned. As soon as we finish this, which is planned, to commemorate Purple [ The Purple Album: Special Gold Edition ], we’re going to start working on the farewell DVD, the farewell album from the last [Whitesnake] tour. And the band was spectacular.”

Coverdale spoke about the musicians currently in Whitesnake: “I don’t know if you’ve seen, I had a beautiful woman named Tanya O’Callaghan Steven Adler ’s band on bass – simply a talented and breathtakingly beautiful woman. I’ll never know why I never had a woman in Whitesnake. But we had Dino Jelusick , two keyboardists, and two guitarists. Tommy Aldridge is equivalent to six drummers.”

“And the venues and the audience, it was all very exciting. I think we captured that in the recording and the video for the people who couldn’t attend the shows. It will be a very memorable thing… On last year’s UK tour, we used a huge production. It will be a selection of Whitesnake material from beginning to end. It’s really cool,” he concluded.

Regarding a possible new album from the group, the vocalist said: “I will soon be talking with my band about the idea of a farewell Whitesnake studio album and inviting some former members to participate to make it more complete – Adrian [Vandenberg] , perhaps, Doug Aldrich , see if they would like to join. Michael Devin , all the people I love, to see what it would be like.”

He also spoke about the importance of having them on this record: “But I think instead of just saying goodbye to this current chapter, it’s saying goodbye to many guys who have been involved. It could be interesting.”

“Whitesnake guitarist Joel Hoekstra be to do this alone. It’s a collaborative band thing. I see the big picture. I want the best for all of them,” he added.

Show cancellations

Last year, members of Whitesnake dealt with health problems . Reb Beach had to miss some shows, but when Tommy Aldridge fell ill , the performance at the Rock Imperium festival in Spain had to be canceled. However, when David Coverdale had a serious nasal infection, the band had to cancel the European tour.
