Last Sunday, the 21st, Whitesnake announced that they would be parting ways with longtime bassist Michael Devin . The band showed affection in their message to Devin, who on Wednesday the 24th, wrote his own statement about the farewell.

In a social media post, Michael Devin thanked fans and wished David Coverdale , as he retires from touring . "The last ten years making music with my brothers in Whitesnake have been pure magic. I will sincerely miss them. They are my family," wrote the bassist.

Devin also wished good luck to Whitesnake's new bassist, Tanya O'Callaghan , who was announced on Wednesday , referring to her as a friend and a "badass bassist." Both Tanya and Whitesnake expressed their enthusiasm for her joining the band.
