Whitesnake has announced its newest member! Tanya O'Callaghan will replace Michael Devin . The musician, who had been in the group for 11 years, announced his departure last weekend.

In a statement (via Blabbermouth ), frontman David Coverdale said he was very proud to have O'Callaghan as the band's newest member. “Please welcome this Irish tornado to the Whitesnake style! An incredible artist who we feel will bring a new, exciting and refreshing musicality to the band, both in the studio and on stage… Here she is… Irish-born and bred… the one and only… Tanya O'Callaghan!!”

Coverdale further added that, although Whitesnake had never had a woman in their lineup, O'Callaghan was the first person they thought of when Devin left.

Tanya also commented on the news on her social media, saying she was very excited: “This small-town girl is still amazed by the number of legends I’ve had the joy of working with, traveling with, and recording with over the past few years. […] It’s been a crazy ride, and when I thought it couldn’t get any better, guess who calls me? The fucking WHITESNAKE!”
