Nile returns to Brazil in March, less than a year after participating in Bangers Open Air , and Southeast regions of Brazil. The shows will take place in Brasília on the 20th, Fortaleza on the 21st, and São Paulo on the 22nd.
Whether you've been following the band for decades or only know "that Egyptian death metal band," the tour promises to bring classics as well as new songs from their latest release, The Underworld Awaits Us All , likely featuring a longer set than the one they presented at Bangers Open Air, as this is a solo show by the band.
Check out five highlights that should be present:
1. The overwhelming finale with “Black Seeds of Vengeance”
If there's one Nile Nile calling card that never fails, it's this song. It usually appears towards the end of shows, always providing that golden finale.
2. “Kafir!” and the Nile in a more direct and hostile manner
Shorter, more aggressive, “Kafir!” is the song that’s always on the setlist and has practically become Nile’s anthem. It’s a song that deviates a bit from the band’s longer structures and shows Nile’s more direct and angry side.
3. “Cast Down the Heretic” and Nile’s famous “organized weight”
Anyone who has seen the band live knows that the riffs in this song seem to come from blocks of granite. It's not the fastest track in the set, but it's one of the most intense; the precision the musicians have on this track is incredible. The band usually plays it with almost mechanical precision, but with that "normal Tuesday in Ancient Egypt" expression.
4. “Lashed to the Slave Stick” and the moment of communion with the audience
Yes, as brutal as it may be, this is the song that usually gets the biggest sing-along. Repetitive verse, catchy chorus from former Nile (Dallas) member, and killer groove make it a highlight for those who really like to participate.
5. A return to origins with “Sacrifice Unto Sebek”
From the era of Amongst the Catacombs of Nephren-Ka , this track serves as a reminder that Nile has always been intense, even before their gigantic productions. It's fast, direct, and perfectly demonstrates why they've become one of the most respected names in Brutal Death Metal.
