Wes Borland , guitarist for Limp Bizkit , dressed up as James Hetfield of Metallica during a performance by the nu-metal band.
The show took place last Friday, the 27th, at Empower Field in Denver, Colorado. The performance was the final show of Limp Bizkit's tour as the opening act for Metallica on the M72 .
During the performance, the eccentric guitarist Wes paid homage by wearing a vintage t-shirt , along with a curly blonde wig, ripped blue jeans, and a skull mask. The look was reminiscent of James Hetfield's appearance at the beginning of Metallica's career.
Wes used a Jackson with a shape similar to a Gibson Explorer , with a label that read “EET PHO”. This is one of James's favorite models. During the tour for the album …And Justice For All (1988), he used a guitar with the description “EET FUK”.
The legendary guitarist shared on his social media the moment some fans noticed the new detail. Check it out below:
In one of the first opening shows of the tour alongside Metallica, in April, Wes Borland paid tribute to James by using this same guitar with the inscription “EET PHO”.
M72 Tour in the US has come to an end. So, Limp Bizkit is now focused on summer festivals. Meanwhile, vocalist Fred Durst , as well as Metallica, will perform at Black Sabbath 's farewell show , which will take place on July 5th at Villa Park in Birmingham, UK.
