Wendy Dio has already interviewed producers and directors to take on the film.
Wendy Dio , wife and manager of Ronnie James Dio , spoke about plans to produce a documentary. The idea is to cover Dio's career from his early days with Elf to Heaven & Hell .
“I’m interviewing producers and directors. It has to be perfect – the way Ronnie would have wanted it. The real, true Ronnie; not drugs, sex and rock n’ roll. He wasn’t about that. I want stories from the bands he played in, from the people who looked out for him, from his bandmates. Only then will it be real,” he said.
She also said that she intends to use previously unseen footage. “I have a lot of things that nobody has ever seen. Some of them are recorded on Super 8, so we have to figure out how to use them. But I think that, even if they are blurry, people will want to see them. There is a lot that deserves to be in the documentary,” she added.
According to Wendy, the film is not expected to be released until 2020.
