This week: Iron Maiden, Golpe de Estado and Black Sabbath. Turn up the volume!!!

Daniel's sound of the week:

It was during the 'World Piece Tour' that I heard Iron Maiden for the first time. I was 14 years old and my life changed.

Back then, I had epic arguments with people who said that Heavy Metal was meaningless noise without quality (in fact, I think I still have those arguments, but today it's easier to show how wrong and ignorant (in the sense of ignoring, being unaware) those people are).

Back then, 'Prodigal Son' was one of the songs I'd play and argue, "Is this song just noise?" The answer was always no, and before the person knew it, I'd already be playing a series of other songs (like Fade To Black, Home Sweet Home, etc.) and that was it: Another conversion underway!!!

The Prodigal Son, with references to the Bible, Zeus, and Keats, is my Weekly Metal for today:

Rafael's sound of the week:
After Viper, Golpe de Estado was definitely the Brazilian band I've seen the most in my life. Their stage performance was absolutely contagious.

Led by maestro Catalau, the songs were sung by the entire audience.

Turn up the volume because tonight is party night!.

This week's song from Nando:
The drumming on this track showcases Bill Ward's technique and power. The riff in "Hand of Doom" is incredibly heavy, and the lyrics sound like something out of a horror movie – pure METAL!!!
