This week: Dream Theater, Girlschool, and Graveyard. Turn up the volume!!!
Daniel's song of the week:
'The Count Of Tuscany' , the epic song that closes 'Black Clouds & Silver Linings' is, in my opinion, a masterpiece.
I know it's not a song for everyone; after all, the mere fact that it's over 19 minutes long scares away the vast majority of people. But it was in this song, starting at 14:15, that Dream Theater created one of the most beautiful melodies of recent years. That's why it's my choice for Weekly Metal.
This isn't an official video, but rather a montage made with scenes from 'Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind' , a film I also love. In this version, the song is only 8 minutes long, and the beautiful part I'm referring to starts at 3:15. Besides the video, it's worth watching the entire version, as it has a really cool and powerful beginning.
Rafael's sound of the week:
I've been listening to these girls for a long time. And today they may be older ladies, but they're still making a headbanging sound.
So turn up the volume and call Emergency Services!!!!
