After much uncertainty and the release of three singles in recent months, We Came As Romans has announced their first album in five years. The album is called Darkbloom and is the first to be made by the band since the tragic death of vocalist Kyle Pavone . The release date is scheduled for October 14th.
Regarding the project, guitarist Josh Moore commented : “We are very excited to finally be able to announce the release of our next album, Darkbloom . This will be our first album in five years and we want to thank you for being patient with us while we tried to figure out if and how we could move forward as a band.”
“We wrote this album about the feelings we felt and all the emotional places we were in while dealing with the loss of our brother, Kyle. Each song is about a different part of our lives over the last few years, a glimpse into the things we’ve dealt with, and how we’ve been able to get to where we are now.”
Moore ended his message by saying he hoped an album like Darkbloom could help others who might be facing similar situations, and concluded: “This album is dedicated to Kyle – we will never forget you and we will never stop saying your name.”
To mark the announcement, We Came As Romans also released the new single “Plagied,” which, according to the band, is about a very delicate part of the grieving process, “when you feel that anger and anguish are turning you into someone else.” Listen now:
