A Killer's Confession Mushroomhead vocalist Waylon Reavis , has announced the release of their fourth studio album, Victim 1 , on September 13th via MNRK Heavy . The new album promises to be hard rock with doses of metal and industrial, as we can hear in the first single, "Filth," released alongside the album announcement.
Reavis commented (via Blabbermouth ) that the new track is one of his favorites and how well it fits into live performances: “It’s another chapter in the Victim 1 . I personally love the upbeat feel of this song, especially when played live. If you’ve seen an AKC [A Killer's Confession] show in the last few months, you’ve been lucky enough to hear it. I feel like our production team with Dusty Boles and Evan McKeever really helped achieve this result.”
The vocalist also spoke about the complete album and how this work stands out among the others: “ Victim 1 might be my favorite album I’ve ever been a part of. AKC completely thought outside the box to write Victim 1. I brought in new producers [Dusty Boles and Evan McKeever] to help reshape the band’s sound. I took most of last year off and didn’t tour to write this album.”
He continues: “The focus I found during this time really helped me to solidify the new sound and direction I wanted to go. Personally, I feel this is the true sound of A Killer's Confession and, in my honest opinion, I feel this is the first true AKC album.”
“Every time I listen to the album, I sit up and smile, because I’ve never had this feeling before with AKC. The tone and atmosphere are completely different from anything we’ve done before.”
