The first official trailer for the documentary Becoming Led Zeppelin was released last Friday, the 6th. The biographical film is scheduled to hit select theaters on February 7, 2025.
The trailer includes excerpts from exclusive conversations with band members Jimmy Page , Robert Plant , and John Paul Jones , as well as a preview of a previously unreleased interview with the band's late drummer, John Bonham , who passed away in 1980 due to asphyxiation.
“The first time we played together was splendid. It was like a gift from heaven, wasn’t it?” says Bohnam in the released clip.
The documentary
Announced in 2019, Becoming Led Zeppelin was only completed in 2021, but it never reached a wide audience. So far, the only screening of the film took place in September 2021, during the Venice Film Festival, with a rough cut version.
According to Sony, the work is finally finished. The definitive version features a new sound mix and includes previously unreleased material found in the archives of the four band members.
