Slipknot is expected to release a new album in 2019
Griffin Taylor and Simon Crahan, sons of Corey Taylor and Shawn 'Clown' Crahan respectively, have released videos of themselves playing covers of songs by their fathers' band. Watch the videos below.
Slipknot vocalist Corey spoke about what it was like to join his son to sing a Stone Sour song in 2017. “It was surreal. A million things go through your head ,” he said. “First of all, he’s a natural. He’d never done anything like that before. We didn’t even rehearse. He was 14 at the time. […] He had the presence of mind, running around the stage, going forward, and then at the end, he jumped and took a selfie with the audience. I never would have thought of doing that in a million years. I’ve never felt that kind of pride in my life, man. Like, ‘Oh, you’ve got the Taylor curse now, man. You’re screwed.’ [Laughs]”
He continued: “In a split second, I was on stage playing guitar, and I was really just doing his backing vocals on the choruses and stuff. But a million things are going through my head. I’m seeing him as a kid, I’m seeing him on his first day of school, I’m seeing him struggle, just trying to figure out who he is and things like that, and then suddenly – boom! – and there he is. And I like it!”
