Volbeat has announced their new studio album, God of Angels Trust , which will be released on June 6th by Vertigo/Universal . Along with the album, the band also revealed the dates for their upcoming tour , which will take them across Europe and North America.

Volbeat also revealed that the new album was composed in record time, just 5 weeks. Pre-order and presale information is available here .

The first single, the track “By a Monster's Hand,” was also released; it's heavy and crushing, and serves as a preview of what the album will sound like in its entirety. For production, the Danish band once again chose Jacob Hansen , who has worked with them for many years.

Regarding the recording and songwriting process, vocalist and guitarist Michael Poulsen says:

“I used to dedicate a lot of time to composing songs and thinking about every aspect of them in detail. This time I wanted to write a Volbeat album without thinking too much. No rules, no structures – I can start with a chorus or just pile verse upon verse. Anything goes.” (via Loudwire )

“In a way, it feels like we’ve come full circle. If you draw a circle for a long time, eventually you come back to where you started – and that’s exactly how it feels now. I’ve gone through surgeries, lineup changes, and all those challenges. But now it feels like a rebirth. It doesn’t feel like our ninth album – it feels like we’re just getting started. That’s an incredibly refreshing feeling.”
