Volbeat has released their new single “Time Will Heal” with a music video. The track is part of their new studio album, God of Angels Trust , which will be released on June 6th by Vertigo/Universal .
Vocalist and guitarist Michael Poulsen explained the meaning behind the track [transcription via Metal Sucks ]: “Throughout life, we go through highs and lows, and sometimes it’s like flipping a switch and everything changes overnight. Suddenly, we enter a sad and emotional state of mind where there seems to be no way to see the light or the good side of anything. But we always find a way to fix things.”
He continued: “I’m good at turning those moments around quickly, but that comes with accepting the good and the bad and using the bad moments to grow and learn, instead of letting them bother you more than they should and letting your mind manipulate reality. The important thing is to realize that, while nothing can be good forever, don’t let the dark side of life take over. Have the confidence to know that better days will come when we are dealing with these moments or demons and having difficulty finding something good in what we are doing.”
“I’m still struggling with the loss of my father. I’d say 80% of the time I’m dealing with the loss and coping well. But sometimes I fall into these black holes where everything is empty and nothing is fair. I’m so grateful to have children because when they come into your life, suddenly everything stops being about you. It’s about the children, and you can’t spend too much energy feeling depressed because they need you. So, having children has been a blessing. It was the best thing that ever happened to me.”
The band announced the dates for their upcoming tour , which will take them across Europe and North America. Volbeat also revealed that the new album was composed in record time, just 5 weeks. Pre-order information is available here .
