Volbeat has announced that their eighth studio album, Servant Of The Mind , is scheduled for release on December 3rd and will be available in standard CD, double vinyl LP (deluxe), and digital deluxe formats. Learn more.

Regarding the project, vocalist and guitarist Michael Poulsen commented: “I wrote the entire album in three months. I was in a good mood and in a good mental state while I was at home and listening to myself carefully… There are many Volbeat trademarks in it. If you go back to our first album and compare it to where we are now, you can hear how much the band has developed its style while maintaining its identity.”

To accompany the album announcement, the band released the new single “Shotgun Blues,” which explores supernatural events that Poulsen recently witnessed while moving into a new house. “Whenever you move house, you bring dead people with you,” he explains. “Strange things happen when you move into a new house… It’s very supernatural.”
