Last Thursday, the 3rd, Volbeat performed at Ulster Hall in Belfast, Ireland. Or at least they tried to.

The Danish band started their set with “Pelvis on Fire,” a track from their latest album, Rewind, Replay, Rebound , but had to stop halfway through the performance. Michael Poulsen suddenly left the stage, and his bandmates followed him.

Then they came back and started playing the song from the beginning, but soon left the stage again. However, this time they didn't return. According to fans on social media, the audience waited for 15 minutes before being told that the show had been cancelled.

The show featured performances by the bands Baroness and Danko Jones , but the sound was poor, and when it was Volbeat's turn to play, they couldn't get through. One fan even mentioned that the sound during Danko Jones' set was awful and seemed to be the fault of the venue's equipment, not the artists.

Later that night, Volbeat posted a note on their official Facebook page explaining the situation: “We at Volbeat want to apologize for having cancelled the show in Belfast tonight. As many of you know, Michael was suffering from a sore throat and we experienced many problems on stage.”

"Although he has recovered his voice, we decided it would be best to stop the show, as he would have to strain his vocals too much for you to hear him with the poor sound quality. We are very sorry that it wasn't possible to do the show, but we will reschedule the date soon."

Poulsen has been experiencing various throat problems, which forced the band to cancel a show in late September in Bristol, England. Despite the cancellation, the opening acts Baroness and Danko Jones performed.

Volbeat's tour returns this Friday, the 4th, in Dublin, Ireland, and concludes only at the end of November with a show in Stockholm, Sweden on the 29th.
