For the first time in Latin America, the Danish band VOLA performed this Saturday, the 26th, in São Paulo, at Fabrique. Formed in 2006, the band has gone through several lineup changes and today consists of three Danes: Asger Mygind (vocals and guitar), Martin Werner (keyboards) and Nicolai Mogensen (bass); and a Swede, Adam Janzi (drums).

With their modern progressive metal, hints of electronic music, and psychedelic lighting, VOLA mesmerized the audience, which, despite its small size, showed that this was no show for beginners. They sang along and cheered the band during every song, even leaving vocalist Asger embarrassed.

The highlight of the show was when Asger said, "São Paulo, let's try something quiet," before launching into the heavy ballad version of "Enter." What followed (or didn't follow) was absolute silence, with only Asger's voice filling the venue, moving and bringing tears to the eyes of many present.

An intimate show by a very talented and charismatic band that has everything it takes to become a star in the coming years.
