Vocalist Chester Bennington posted a series of tweets on his official Twitter account today commenting on the audience's reaction to Linkin Park's show at the Hellfest festival, which took place in France last weekend. The event, one of the biggest metal festivals in the world, featured bands such as Slayer, Deep Purple, Rob Zombie, Five Finger Death Punch, Behemoth, Obituary, and more.

At the show, Linkin Park received a negative reaction from the audience when they played songs from their recent, more pop-oriented albums. Check out Chester Bennington's statement:

"Hellfest was great. It was fun seeing people moshing to 'In The End' and then flipping me off when we played 'Heavy.' I blew them kisses."

After I blew kisses, they smiled and made heart shapes with their hands.

I welcomed the Hellfest crowd with my metal voice, and then we played Invisible. The look of shock on people's faces.

Joking aside… The audience was great and handled our set well. Our fans in France are amazing.

Does anyone else find it funny that the same people who say we sold out are suggesting we change our set to conform to Hellfest?
