Linkin Park's lead singer committed suicide.
Linkin Park co-founder Mike Shinoda confirmed the death of bandmate Chester Bennington today on Twitter. Shinoda wrote, “Shocked and heartbroken, but it’s true. An official statement will be released as soon as we have one.”
The news of the death of vocalist Chester Bennington was reported by TMZ this afternoon, the 20th. The musician was 41 years old and committed suicide by hanging.
Linkin Park had their heyday in the early 2000s with the albums "Hybrid Theory" and "Meteora." The band released their latest album, One More Light , in May and was one of the headliners at the Maximus Festival in São Paulo this year.
