Josh Kiszka , lead singer of Greta Van Fleet , revealed that he is part of the LGBTQIA+ community through a post on social media.

Using his personal Instagram account , Kiszka spoke out against recent bills introduced in Tennessee that infringe on the rights of certain members of the LGBTQIA+ community. The vocalist revealed that he has been in a same-sex relationship for eight years and highlighted the importance of sharing this information publicly.

“Where I’ve established a home in Tennessee, lawmakers are proposing bills that threaten the freedom of love. It’s imperative that I speak my truth not just for myself, but in the hope of changing hearts, minds, and laws in Tennessee and beyond,” the singer wrote.

"This matter is particularly important to me because I have been in a same-sex romantic relationship for 8 years. Those close to me are aware, but it's important for me to share this publicly."

In his post, Josh Kiszka also shared a list of organizations that support the LGBTQIA+ cause. "The LGBTQ+ community is a cultural pillar, constantly advocating for positivity and acceptance through art, music, literature, film, and most importantly, legislation," he wrote.

"The greatest mortal gift of all is our capacity to love, and as we travel through time, may our greater understanding of the matter around us and within us teach us to love ever more deeply," he concluded.

Recently, a bill in Tennessee aimed to ban drag queen performances on public property or anywhere minors could access them. The bill was rejected and deemed unconstitutional by a federal judge.
