Rosa Laricchiuta is the new vocalist for Vixen . The singer was recruited shortly after Lorraine Lewis ' departure . Rosa, who was previously part of the Trans-Siberian Orchestra and Headpins, made her first appearance with Vixen on June 21st at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California, along with Great White , Slaughter , and Quiet Riot .
Laricchiuta is a singer and songwriter from Montreal, Quebec. After years of performing live, in 2015 she auditioned for the Quebec version of The Voice. On the show, she chose Éric Lapointe as her coach.
Her performances were a success, leading her to the show's final. In the grand finale, she performed with Def Leppard , Kelly Clarkson , Jean Leloup , and Melissa Etheridge , of whom the singer is a big fan. With this, Rosa won over millions of viewers who dubbed her the new female rock voice of Quebec.
Following his success on the TV show, Laricchiuta released his first album, Free . He then joined the Trans-Siberian Orchestra for a mega tour of the United States. In 2020, he launched a hard rock project, Black Rose Maze , and released an album of the same name.
Vixen's vocalist change
Lorraine Lewis' departure was announced in May. In a recent interview on the Battleline , guitarist Britt Lightning spoke about Lewis' departure: “Sometimes things take their course. And again, I'm not involved in this decision or have the freedom to really talk about who the new vocalist will be yet or the reasons for it. But at the end of the day, it doesn't matter, I guess. We're moving forward, and there will be new music. And I think it's going to be amazing. So I'm very excited.”
Regarding the fact that the only original member of the band is drummer Roxy Petrucci , Britt stated: “Yes, well, I think Roxy is definitely dedicated to maintaining the musical integrity of classic Vixen. She said so. And I think for some reason, she feels that this change will be positive (…) I’m excited, I trust her. She’s been doing this for a long time, and she knows what feels right.”
