Vitão's AC/DC cover sparks debate: "Talentless" or "full of attitude"?

The singer performed "You Shook Me All Night Long" on Globo's 'Caldeirão' show.

Singer Vitão surprised everyone by doing a cover of "You Shook Me All Night Long" by AC/DC during his performance on the show Caldeirão com Mion last Saturday, the 8th.

The artist paid this tribute to the hard rock band on the show "Sobe o Som ," a musical competition between pairs of celebrities, in which they have to guess which song was played by the show's band.

In the case of AC/DC, Vitão was invited to perform the track in question. In addition to singing, the São Paulo native also played the guitar solo on "You Shook Me All Night Long".

"I don't even know what to say, this was one of the craziest things we've ever done on this stage," commented the presenter Marcos Mion at the end of the performance.

As expected, many rock fans complained about the artist's performance. "My rocker father-in-law, who is paralyzed and has been in a wheelchair for years, heard Vitao, got up from his chair and turned off the TV," mocked Peter Jordan of the website Ei Nerd .

"It's clear that any DEAF person would be annoyed by this lack of talent, and I have the authority to say so because I'm a musician and he is indeed bad," said another user .

On the other hand, some people saw the positive side of the band's exposure on national television. "Regardless of Vitão's performance, him playing classic rock like that on a Saturday afternoon on a TV network like Globo is cool in many ways. A child who has never heard of AC/DC might like the band just because of Vitão," says one comment .

"More young people playing and singing AC/DC! Ahhh, but what about the quality? Screw the quality, rock has always been about attitude," another .

Others pointed out that there is a certain resistance from rock fans to accepting when artists of other styles play rock. "It even seems like there was a slight playback there, but anyway, the performance wasn't that bad, people are criticizing just for the sake of criticizing," one internet user pointed out.

"I thought it was cool that he challenged himself like that. It must be really hard to sing that song," said another .
