The São Paulo-based rock band VIPER will open for the American band Queensrÿche on August 28th at Tropical Butantã.
The group, which featured Andre Matos on vocals for their first two albums, is currently touring the country performing their greatest hits. However, for this special occasion, the band will be presenting, for the first time since 2007, new songs that will be featured on their upcoming album, to be released in the second half of this year.
In addition to unreleased material, VIPER will release a remastered version of 'VIPER LIVE – Maniacs in Japan', a live album recorded in Tokyo during the Maniacs on Tour , which in 1993 visited six countries and 40 cities. The release will also include unreleased tracks played for the tour audience, but never before shared with fans.
The Brazilian band says they are very honored to open for Queensrÿche, as Felipe Machado , the band's guitarist, stated, adding that the Americans' album, Operation Mindcrime, was one of the biggest influences on VIPER's Theatre of Fate
VIPER consists of Felipe Machado (guitar), Pit Passarell (bass and vocals), Guilherme Martin (drums), and Leandro Caçoilo (vocals).
More information regarding tickets will be released soon.
