And season 5 of VIPER Tuesdays is amazing!!!
August 27th is a historic day for Brazilian rock: it was the date of the first edition of the legendary Monsters of Rock , featuring Kiss , Black Sabbath , Slayer and Suicidal Tendencies . Among the Brazilian bands was VIPER, who had just arrived from recording the album Coma Rage in Los Angeles and landed directly on the stage of the Pacaembu stadium for one of their most electrifying shows.
VIPER's performance at the festival will be shown in its entirety on Wikimetal's YouTube channel, and from beginning to end, it's one of the most energetic and powerful shows in the history of Brazilian heavy metal.
According to guitarist Felipe Machado , participating in Monsters was a dream for the musicians:
“When we were teenagers, in 1984, we only saw our idols on pirated VHS tapes or underground movie screenings like Rock Show and Carbono 14. The highlight was the festivals, because they brought together many bands: Woodstock , US Festival , Monsters of Rock …”
“Ten years later, VIPER was invited to play at Monsters of Rock , the show we dreamed of when we were kids. I remember thinking that if we were there, it was because we were also, in a way, 'rock monsters' – even though I imagined we were just 'little monsters' compared to the giants we shared the stage with. It was one of the best shows of our career and one of the best days of my life. That night, I went home so tired that I didn't even dream. I didn't need to.”
