VIPER 's live show in Japan, one of the most legendary in the history of Brazilian metal, is available for the first time on digital platforms .

The remastered version of VIPER Live – Maniacs in Japan , released today, features previously unreleased tracks:

The album features a version of "The Spreading Soul" with an introduction of the classic "Moonlight." It also includes "Prelude to Oblivion" and "HR," which were not part of the original release. And it's the first time "Keep the Words," which had just been composed and was still called "Nothing About Me," was played.

The album was also released in a completely new physical format .

Due to the pandemic, there will be no launch event where current and former VIPER members usually interact with fans.

However, the band has prepared a surprise: the first 100 CDs sold here are autographed by all the band members at the time of the show: Pit Passarell (bass and vocals), Felipe Machado (guitar), Yves Passarell (guitar) and Renato Graccia (drums).

The album was recorded on June 18, 1993 in Tokyo during the closing of the Maniacs on Tour 92-93 , which included stops in Europe, Japan, and South America.

VIPER was the first Brazilian heavy metal band to achieve great success in Japan. In the early 1990s, they even topped the charts ahead of major international acts like Nirvana and Van Halen .

VIPER Live – Maniacs in Japan is part of a series of re-releases that VIPER and the Wikimetal have been undertaking, aiming to make the band's entire discography available – including demos, which are usually included as bonus tracks on studio albums – on CD and digital platforms. The next releases will be the albums Coma Rage , recorded in Los Angeles in 1994, and All My Life from 2007.

Another new development is that the albums Soldiers of Sunrise and Theatre of Fate have also been re-released in slipcase format and are available for sale at the Wikimetal Store , along with other official band merchandise.
