VIPER 's new album have been completed! The project is the band's first studio album in over a decade and features special guests who are part of the group's history and extended family, as Felipe Machado tells Wikimetal .

Recorded between High Five Studios and Estúdio de Voz Caçoilo, in São Paulo, between January and October, adaptations were necessary due to the pandemic. According to Machado, there wasn't the usual interaction with his colleagues Leandro Caçoilo (vocals), Pit Passarell (bass) and Guilherme Martin (drums), but none of that harmed the final result of the album.

“Finishing the recording of this album is like crossing a dark path and finding the light on the other side,” he said. “Because of the pandemic, it was made in a very different way from all the others, without so much interaction between the musicians. I think it’s a reflection of that.”.

Without revealing too many details, Machado guaranteed the same quality as always in the highly anticipated successor to All My Life (2007). “In terms of style, it will be like all VIPER albums: something original, different from everything we've done before. We never repeat ourselves and there's no reason to do so now,” he assures. “Initially, I imagined it would bring a mix of Theatre of Fate and Evolution , but I was wrong. Albums are organic works and, being works of art, they may even originate from a preconceived idea, but they never completely follow any logic. I think the fans will be surprised.”

Finally, the guest appearances chosen for the new album promise to honor the band's legacy and history. Confirmed bassists include Daniel Matos , brother of Andre Matos , and Nando Machado , brother of Felipe. Two former VIPER members also participated: Yves Passarell , who currently plays in Capital Inicial , and guitarist Hugo Mariutti , from Shaman . Singer Natacha Cersosimo , from Toyshop , also made an appearance.

“The album brings together a large part of the VIPER family, literally,” comments Felipe Machado about the guests. “So, it’s a VIPER family album. How much of that is reflected in the music is hard to say. There are songs that are quite different from each other, I hope it pleases both fans of “Soldiers of Sunrise” and fans of “Coma Rage”, although I know that’s almost impossible.”.

Still without a title or release date announced, the project is "in its final stages" and has been sent to New York for mixing, under the care of producer Mauricio Cersosimo , who has worked with names like Sepultura and Toyshop, and is also the brother of the band's drummer.
