Vinny Appice doesn't know why he wasn't called up for Black Sabbath

Read the excerpt from the interview

In an interview on the Music Mania podcast, drummer Vinny Appice was asked if he was ever invited to play on Black Sabbath . Check out his statement:

“They got together with a new producer, Rick Rubin. And, you know, there are different people around them. So it wasn't 'okay, let's call Vinny.' I don't know who recommended the guy who plays on the album [Brad Wilk]; it must have had to do with Rick Rubin. That's how things happen in this industry. Different people around the band influence the decisions the band makes.”.

They never called me. I don't know why. And I don't ask, because every time I played with the band, they were the ones who called. They know my phone number; they know how to contact me. And that's fine, I'm still friends with Tony, I still talk to Tony and Geezer, I love them, and they're still family. But they didn't call me for the tour, and that's okay. I'm just happy they're playing.”.
