Drummer says he has moved on

Dispelling Phil Anselmo's comments that he would be open to a Pantera reunion, drummer Vinnie Paul said he has no interest whatsoever in resuming contact with the members of his former band.

In an interview with Hangar 19 radio, Vinnie said: “I’m happy with what I do, I enjoy being in a band where everyone likes each other and enjoys being together. I have no interest in living in the past. I’ve moved on, that’s all.” Currently, the drummer plays in the band Hellyeah.

In an interview with Wikimetal last month, Phil Anselmo said he was open to Vinnie Paul and a possible Pantera reunion.

“I talked to Zakk (Wylde) about a Pantera reunion. We’re aware of the fans’ perception, but honestly… Until I talk to Vinnie Paul, which hasn’t happened yet and doesn’t seem like it will, nothing can be done. Honestly, my phone is in my hand, my email is open, and my doors are always open. I’d love to talk to Vince. Honestly, if there were no more resentments and we could talk and understand each other, that wouldn’t just mean the world to me, but it would be great for the fans too. I think people don’t want to see conflict anymore. It’s time for some peace. A moment for brotherhood. And honestly, I think we should be setting examples, instead of the opposite. And I’ll just say that my door is open, and so far, Vinnie’s door has been closed. Which is a shame.”

Vinnie and Anselmo haven't spoken since Pantera broke up in 2003.
