Vince Neil , from Mötley Crüe , was diagnosed with Covid-19 last Thursday, the 12th, and cancelled his solo performance scheduled for RokIsland Fest 2023 next week.
The vocalist announced the news through a statement on social media RokIsland friends , I’m sad to inform you that I was diagnosed with Covid yesterday. I’m okay but this is really getting to me. With all that said, I’m unable to perform at RokIsland Fest next week.”
“I would like to extend my sincere apologies to the organizers of RokIsland Fest and above all to all my friends and fans. I am disappointed to say the least. I was so looking forward to this show. I hope to have the opportunity to make up for it in 2024. To conclude, I wish everyone attending RokIsland Fest 2023 a fun and exciting time with all the other amazing artists.”
The second annual edition of RokIsland Fest takes place between January 17th and 21st at the Truman Waterfront Park Amphitheatre in Florida. The five-day festival features not only music in an intimate setting but also plenty of entertainment.
Vince Neil, even in solo performances, has always enjoyed playing the songs of the metal band he's part of. “It’s a cool thing, because I love Mötley Crüe, I love Mötley Crüe’s music, and I love singing, and I love the fans’ reaction when they hear the songs. Whether we’re playing in front of a thousand or twenty thousand people, I can only see the front row anyway. So I’m happy for myself and for the fans that they can still hear that music after Mötley Crüe is over,” he told SiriusXM (transcription via Blabbermouth ).
Mötley Crüe went on tour with Def Leppard in 2022 and already has a confirmed date in Brazil in March, in the city of São Paulo. Initially, there were supposed to be three shows in the country, but the performances in Curitiba and Porto Alegre were cancelled .
