Anyone unfamiliar with Vended was won over by the end of Friday night. Featuring the sons of Corey Taylor and Clown from Slipknot , the young band surprised everyone in São Paulo with their technique, power, and stage presence.
The boys took the place that was initially Motionless In White's and shared the Vibra São Paulo venue with Bring Me The Horizon on the night of the 16th, in a show preceding Knotfest Brasil . The cancellation of the first band didn't seem to faze the audience, who filled the venue later to see BMTH, but also made a point of arriving early to meet the group, which is still a new act.
Seeing Vended on stage is like witnessing the beginning of a musical name that will one day become a giant. With big hair, war-like makeup, and even masks that partially cover their faces, the band delivers a heavy and fast sound led by Griffin Taylor .
Following in his father's footsteps, Griffin is the vocalist and fills the stage with the same almost theatrical stage presence as Corey. He leads the show primarily with guttural vocals, leaving no room for melodic vocals, faces the audience with a glint in his eye, and makes dramatic arm gestures when standing still. The rest of the band also meshes very well together, delivering fast guitar solos, complex bass lines, and frenetic drumming.

Despite the heaviness and energy, the audience seemed somewhat reluctant to enjoy the show, which featured heavier metal. It's easy to see that Bring Me The Horizon's audience is younger, and at least some of them are fans of the band due to its mainstream popularity. These same fans aren't necessarily metal enthusiasts or fans of heavy music as a whole. For a more engaged audience, Vended's electrifying show would have been enough to headbang and unleash insane mosh pits. On Friday night, however, most of the Vibra São Paulo crowd enjoyed the show in a more introspective way, despite some warmer interactions from those near the stage.
It was 40 minutes of pure adrenaline due to Vended's short setlist, as they haven't yet released a full studio album. Even so, the time was enough to win over the audience, who bid farewell to the band members to the sound of an enthusiastic chorus shouting the group's name. They will perform again on Sunday the 18th, as part of the Knotfest Brasil lineup.
