The box set will include recordings of two of the group's shows from 1969

The Velvet Underground will release an eight-vinyl compilation featuring historic performances by the group in San Francisco in 1969 at The Matrix music venue, which was open from 1965 to 1972.

The Complete Matrix Tapes tour featured two intense nights of performances that included versions of songs such as “Sweet Jane,” “New Age,” and “Rock & Roll.” The show featured Doug Yule , who replaced John Cale in 1968. Lou Reed, Sterling Morrison , and Maureen Tucker completed the lineup.

The Complete Matrix Tapes will be available for purchase starting July 12th on the band's official website.
