Vaughan Oliver, graphic designer who worked with Pixies and Cocteau Twins, has died.

Vaughan Oliver , a graphic designer known for his work with the British publisher 4AD, has died at the age of 62.

His death was announced by writer, editor, and designer Adrian Shaughnessy via Twitter. The cause of death was not revealed.

Inspired by artists such as Roger Dean and Salvador Dali , Vaughan founded, along with photographer and filmmaker Nigel Grierson , the 23 Envelope studios. They were responsible for album covers such as Surfer Rosa by the Pixies , Treasure by the Cocteau Twins , and Last Splash by the Breeders .

Starting in 2008, he added to his resume work with names like TV on the Radio , Kim Deal , and David Lynch .
