Musician arrested on suspicion of planning massacre.

Musician has already served 16 years in prison.

The leader of the Norwegian black metal band Burzum, Varg Vikernes (also known as Count Grishnack), was arrested this morning on suspicion of planning a massacre. The Norwegian has already served 16 years in prison for the murder of musician Euronymous.

This time, suspicions indicated that Vikernes was planning a racist massacre. Few details of the case have been released so far. Norwegian police are searching Vikernes' home for weapons and explosives.

According to the French website RTL, Vikernes was one of 530 supporters who received the manifesto from Anders Breivik, the perpetrator of the 2011 terrorist attacks in Norway, hours before the attacks. The investigator in Vikernes' current case said that the fact that the musician received the manifesto was one of the main reasons for the investigation: “This was the origin. But many other indications contributed to the agencies suspecting that he might commit an act of violence.”
