Aerosmith - Van from the first tour

Aerosmith's first tour van has been found in the United States

The vehicle was found in a forest

Aerosmith 's first tour van was found abandoned in a forest near Chesterfield, in the United States. The vehicle was tracked down by Mike Wolfe and Frank Fritz, hosts of American Pickers , a series shown on The History Channel.

The van's authenticity was confirmed by guitarist Joe Perry and Ray Tabano , a founding member of Aerosmith. Tabano was in the band between 1970 and 1972, before being replaced by Brad Whitford .

“I’m afraid to say how long ago it was, but I think it’s been 40 years since we were in this business,” Tabano said. “We drove for $125. After gas, tolls, and food, we all made $3 each. It reminded me of humble beginnings, and looking at where [the band] is now, it’s just incredible.”.

It's unclear how the van ended up in the forest, but the property owner says he bought the land from "someone with a connection to Aerosmith.".

The presenters bought the car for $25,000.
