Val Santos explains the connection between Metallica and the album title '1986'; understand why.

The guitarist and producer's first solo album was released on May 28th

Val Santos , guitarist and producer, quoted Metallica when explaining the meaning of the title of his first solo album, 1986 , Kazagastão channel .

The project's name doesn't refer to Val's birth year, as many people might think, but to a glorious era of the rise of thrash and heavy metal that dictates the album's sound and was part of the artist's adolescence. "It was a year that had several classic metal releases," the musician told the KZG Recomenda .

Among the classic albums released that year were Reign in Blood by Slayer , Peace Sells… But Who's Buying? by Megadeth and Val's favorite: Master of Puppets by Metallica, which also marked the tragic death of Cliff Burton .

“That was also the year I composed my first metal song, called 'Warriors of Metal,' which is on this album,” the musician continued. “I based it on a Helloween called 'Heavy Metal Is The Law.'”

Released on May 28th by Wikmetal Music , the album features collaborations with major names in Brazilian metal, bringing together the entire legacy of Val Santos after decades of dedication to the genre. The musician has played in bands such as Zuris, VIPER, and Toyshop , and has produced for artists like Felipe Machado , guitarist of VIPER, who suggested the album title 1986 to Val Santos.
