Val Kilmer died this Tuesday, December 1st, at the age of 65, after suffering from severe pneumonia. The actor was in Los Angeles, United States. The information was released by the actor's daughter, Mercedes Kilmer , to The New York Times.

The American actor was known for his memorable performances as Jim Morrison in the film The Doors (1991), Batman in Batman Forever (1995), and Tom “Iceman” Kazansky in Top Gun (1986) and Top Gun: Maverick (2022).

According to IMDb , the actor's dedication to portraying Jim Morrison was so intense that he needed therapy to let go of the character after filming. Kilmer even learned 50 songs by The Doors for the role.

Val Kilmer was diagnosed with throat cancer in 2014, but he recovered.
