The São Paulo-based band Under Influence has released their new single, “We Ain't no Bonnie and Clyde”. The track will be featured on the group's upcoming EP, which will be released in November by the Wikimetal Music .
In this new single, the quartet presents a new dimension to their sound. Beyond the melodic hardcore style of the 90s that is the band's specialty, the track also features elements of thrash metal and surf music riffs, creating a unique and intense combination.
“The band’s biggest influence is NOFX and related bands, but on this track we did something completely different from our usual style. This comes from other influences of each band member,” says bassist Diogo Pinto.
The frenetic energy of the single was also captured in the music video , directed by Fernando Dranger , which you can watch at the end of this article.
This is the second single from the EP It Is What It Is , which is scheduled for release in November. The band had already released "198What?" last month, the first single from the project . This new EP will be the second project from the São Paulo-based quartet, which made its debut last year with its first album, Same Old, Same Old (2022).
The new EP will maintain the hardcore sound of the first album, but will also present a new depth. "Our goal remains to have a simple sound, but this time we worked more on the songs," says guitarist and vocalist Guilherme Sanches . "It's a more mature work."
The band produced the single, as well as the upcoming EP, at Toth Studio, where artists such as Dead Fish, Bullet Bane, Hateen , and others have recorded.
Under Influence consists of Guilherme Sanches (vocals and guitar), Antonio Polverini (guitar), Diogo Pinto (bass), and Rafael Ferraz (drums).
