The São Paulo-based band Under Influence brings the direct sound of 90s hardcore by mixing catchy melodies and frenetic rhythms. This blend is explored in their EP It Is What It Is , released in November 2023.
The band's influences range across a wide variety of musical genres. At times incorporating elements of genres such as thrash metal, surf music, and funk grooves, but always maintaining the simple and direct approach of hardcore.
Exclusively to Wikimetal , the group listed some songs that marked the formation and influence of their career. Speaking about the selection, Under Influence reflected: “Our playlist is a dive into the roots and influences that shaped our band's sound, highlighting emblematic names in hardcore/punk rock. We selected 10 artists, both national and international, who have inspired Under Influence from our adolescence to the present day. Enjoy without moderation!”
