The pioneers of UFO have announced the date of their final career show for 2022. Formed in 1969, with a great legacy as one of the first hard rock and heavy metal bands in history, the group has more than five decades of history.
The band has been on a farewell tour since 2019, but the dates for the Last Orders 50th Anniversary Tour have had to be postponed several times since the start of the pandemic. The shows in Latin America , with São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Brasília on the route, have undergone two date changes and are now expected to take place next year, with no dates yet defined.
The British band has now set a date and location to end their career. UFO's final show will take place on October 29, 2022, at the Fuzz Club venue in Athens, Greece, following the band's European tour dates in June, July, and October.
“After so many years with highlights, fantastic experiences and countless beautiful memories – as well as some difficult moments, no doubt – it will be a fitting end to say goodbye to their fans in person. I know there will certainly be very emotional moments on both sides,” commented vocalist Phil Mogg (via Louder Sound ).
It is not yet known how the Latin American tour will be affected, but the group only has a two-month break from shows in Europe before embarking on the final leg, which should close the cycle after more than 50 years.
