UDO confirms that there are some ideas and plans for the production of a next studio work which will succeed the album Touchdown (2023) .
In an interview with Rockaxis TV , band members Udo Dirkschneider (vocals), Sven Dirkschneider (drums), and Fabian “Dee” Dammers (guitar) commented on the possibility of a new album ( via Blabbermouth ):
“I think we’ve had some conversations about a new release and, obviously, why don’t we make more music?” said Dammers. “Those plans will happen after the Dirkschneider tour , which will be intense in celebration of the 40th anniversary of Balls to the Wall (1983) , and maybe after the tour there will be time to write new songs.”
The guitarist added: “We’re always ready to create new music. I mean, Sven already said that the coolest thing about us is that we have all generations combined here. For example, Andrey Smirnov Accept guitarist and current UDO member) and I look at music so differently that sometimes it gets so close to being like a fight, but then we take everyone’s strengths and combine them to create something new. And, for sure, I’d love to continue with that.”
Sven Dirkschneider added: “Wherever you go, Dee and Andrey already have their studio set up anyway. They’re playing guitar all day. So, we have some ideas, but it’s not yet decided when we’ll be working on the next studio album.”
Vocalist Udo Dirkschneider commented that Peter Baltes , former Accept bassist and UDO member since 2023 , will be involved in the creative process of the band's next album.
“What’s interesting is that Peter Baltes is involved in the songwriting. I know what Peter’s songwriting is like from when I was in Accept a long time ago. It will be very interesting and I’m really excited for the next album.”
