U2 releases album of reinterpretations 'Songs of Surrender' and project with 40 artists.

Fans can find quotes from the band in 40 cities around the world, including São Paulo.

Irish band U2 Songs of Surrender last Friday, the 17th, featuring reinterpretations and versions of classic songs from their career, recorded over the last two years. To celebrate the release, the group is proposing a challenge for fans to find 40 new interpretations.

Record labels Island Records and Interscope shared details of the collaborative project U2SOS40, which involved 40 artists and creators from around the world in creating 60-second pieces of content, each featuring a U2 cover song as its soundtrack.

The result is 40 new visual interpretations of U2's music — 40 stories by 40 creators — to mark the release of Songs Of Surrender , a collection of 40 seminal U2 songs (drawn from the band's catalog), re-recorded and reimagined for 2023.

The artwork will be shared by its creators on their social media channels in the coming weeks, always using the hashtag #U2SOS40. Additionally, fans in 40 cities around the world can find phrases from the band in specific locations and participate in the album experience, including in São Paulo, until this Sunday, the 19th.
