U2 joined the campaign against President Jair Bolsonaro in a post on their official Twitter account .

They used the hashtag #EleNão in the tweet, a phrase used in the 2018 elections against the current president.

In addition, the band also posted the hashtag #ForaSalles, in reference to the current Minister of the Environment, Ricardo Salles . Both politicians have been heavily criticized following the recent fires in the Amazon.

The photo in U2's publication shows bassist Adam Clayton and his Brazilian wife Mariana de Carvalho at a protest against climate change.
