Deaths of Phil Buerstatte and Trevor Bolder
Two deaths of important figures in Metal were announced today; Phil Buerstatte, former drummer of White Zombie, was found dead at age 44, and Trevor Bolder, bassist of Uriah Heep, died of cancer at age 62.
Buerstatte was found dead this weekend, and his death was announced by Rob Zombie, his former bandmate. The drummer played in White Zombie between 1992 and 1994 and also in the band Last Crack, from 1986 to 1997.
Trevor Bolder joined Uriah Heep after playing in David Bowie's band, Spiders From Mars, in the 1970s. He only stopped playing with the band a few months ago when his health deteriorated. Uriah Heep announced the bassist's death, saying that Bolder was one of the great musicians of his generation.
