Twisted Sister may perform in Brazil at Bangers Open Air 2027 , according to a comment from the festival organizers on Instagram.
The band has cancelled its highly anticipated reunion tour celebrating its 50th anniversary , which would have marked its return to the stage after a hiatus since 2016, including a performance at Bangers Open Air 2026 Dee Snider 's health problems
According to the website Whiplash , Bangers Open Air revealed that the band expressed interest in performing at the next edition of the event. Through a comment complaining about recent cancellations at the festival, including Eluveitie and Cobra Spell , the organization reportedly responded:
"Unfortunately, these situations are beyond our control, but we respect the bands' decision. We have to remember that we are all human and unforeseen events happen. Eluveitie and Twisted Sister have asked to return for the 2027 edition."
The future of Twisted Sister will be decided in the coming weeks, according to Jay Jay French .
Why was Twisted Sister cancelled?
In a statement released through the band's social media , the cancellation occurred after vocalist Dee Snider faced health problems that prevent him from fulfilling the planned tour schedule. According to the statement, the decision was made jointly by the band members and the singer's medical team, prioritizing his full recovery. "I don't know any other way to proceed. The idea of slowing down is unacceptable to me. I'd rather retire than be a shadow of what I once was," confessed Snider.
Acid For Squares podcast , hosted by the singer's son, Cody Blue Snider , Dee Snider revealed in detail the series of health problems he has been facing. The musician deals with degenerative arthritis, which has led him to undergo several surgeries over the years.
“I’ve had some health problems. I have arthritis in my shoulders, degenerative arthritis. I had a hip replacement because of excessive wear and tear on the joints, a result of my profession, which demands too much from my body […] But, in the case of my heart, this is linked to accumulated stress over time,” revealed the vocalist.
