The Brazilian band Turim , a pop punk/melodic hardcore group, has released an animated music video for their latest single, "Voltar a Sorrir" (Smile Again).
The video's aesthetic complements the song's lyrics, which deal with overcoming challenges and not giving up on your dreams, even when things aren't going so well. It also incorporates elements related to the city of São Paulo, highlighting the band's hometown.
Regarding the choice of how to make the music video, the band said: “We decided to do it in animation to somehow soften and bring lightness to the context, without leaving aside the humor. Cartoons give you a lot of that possibility, to address serious and delicate issues using a more lighthearted approach.”
The music video director, Guilherme Krol, also commented: “It was really fun analyzing the script that Neto (vocals and guitar) brought me, and we had a lot of fun creating ideas and situations that are clichés, consolidated from the cartoons we watched in childhood, like Bugs Bunny, Woody Woodpecker, South Park, Doug, and many others.”
