Tropical Butantã, which quickly became one of the main concert venues in the west side of São Paulo, has officially announced that it will be closing its doors. According to a statement released to the press, the land has been sold to a real estate developer.
“Despite the impact of the pandemic on the cultural sector, the management had been looking after the venue and maintaining all the necessary precautions to preserve the space, which already had several commitments scheduled for the first months of 2022,” said Julio Viseu , one of the venue's partners.
The Tropical Butantã stage opened in February 2016 and has hosted approximately over 1,000 performances. The venue has hosted The Winery Dogs, Bullet For My Valentine, Behemoth, Black Label Society, Amon Amarth, Saxon, Glenn Hughes, Papa Roach, Epica, and many more.
