Trivium bassist Paolo Gregoletto responded to a question about whether fans can expect a new album in 2026. He stated that there is still no set date for the next studio work.
In an interview with Bloodstock TV , Gregoletto explained that the group is focused on releasing the EP Struck Dead on October 31st of this year. According to him, the idea for the EP arose as a way to keep fans entertained with new music while the band takes time to calmly consider the creative direction of their next album.
“We have this material coming out, a tour in the United States, and then we’ll probably be back next summer. But we’ve already started working on new things. We have our space, the hangar, at our house, so we’re always writing. I think, tentatively, maybe by the end of next year or in 2027 it will be possible,” he said [transcription via Blabbermouth ].
Paolo also highlighted that the songs on Trivium's new EP sounded cohesive with each other, which motivated the separate release, giving the band a chance to breathe before working on a new album.
“These songs felt right together. It gave us time to breathe and think about what we want to do, while also giving the fans something new and not leaving them waiting for a whole year,” he concluded.
